Data Guard between X5 pdb and X3 sdb

Hi All,

ODA newbie, Data Guard newbie and RAC newbie... alas with deadlines to boot.  I have an X5-2 and an X3-2, both running 12.1.2.4, that I am trying to configure with Data Guard.  I'm following the documentation in the following file that is dated Jan 2016, deploying-odg-with-oda-1615029.pdf.

Some questions:

1) Creating initial standby parameter file as "grid" user? Shouldn't it be the "oracle" user? And if it really is the "grid" user, why? The document doesn't state to be logged in as grid user, but makes a big deal about using the correct ORACLE_HOME then the example on page 10 shows
