SLA setups for Deriving COGS

Can someone share any document or experience on how to modify the SLA setup to change the COGS account generation process.  For example. Based on certain fields selected in the Sales order, we would like to derive the COGS accounts. and do not want to customize the COGS workflow generator. How this can be achieved through SLA.
