Received TLS handshake error and question about including TLS in my outbound sendmail server

I have a Solaris 10 sendmail server that can send thousands of emails to clients.  It only accepts mail from those in hosts.allow.

I saw many many f this same error in my logs and started thinking of TLS.  I have never configured it but wondered if I do, will I have problems sending mail to my current clients that do not show this error. 

Can I just implement TLS and send mail as I normally do or do I have to share a certificate with my clients?   I was going to use this document to set it up (https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23824_01/html/821-1454/mailadmin-43.html#fxcty
