Is it possible to substitute a bom component for a phantom or kit bom?

Hi,

In our frozen food business, we partially complete a work order and at the end of the day the partially completed product is putaway as a WIP item in inventory.

A separate work order is opened to complete this WIP item into inventory and the original work order is closed.

Is it possible to have the WIP item on a BOM so it is consumed first when the plant is ready to complete the finished good, but have the ability to substitute for all the components that make up the WIP item when R31410 runs?

The work order parts list for a new work order would respectively show available WIP item when hard committing and necessary components that make up that WIP item.
