What is the use of "$table$" tag in default SQL statement in Integrator interface columns.

Hi

Can you please explain the use of "$table$" tag and its intended use in default SQL statement in Integrator interface columns. I tried below query, but not defaulting the value.  Could not find any document explaining this.

SELECT TERM_ID FROM RA_TERMS WHERE TERM_NAME = $table$.TERM_NAME
