Balancing segment vs operating unit

Hello All,

What application drivers will impact finance business process if multiple balancing segment is selected under one operating unit?

Background, we have only one company (LE) but business reporting is @ state level and each state is a BS however operations are controlled at region which is group of state and its defined as operating unit.

Our query is what challenges we are going to face if we consider multiple balancing segment under one operating unit.
