Simplified Upgrade - Custom Report code refresh - Is this necessary?

Hi Group Members,

Let me illustrate our experience with simplified upgrade. A Technical developer these custom application from scratch - An Interactive Application, a report UBE, a BSFN and a table in 9.1. We executed simplified upgrade path to move object specification. We later ran full package deployment process. Then ,we asked a Functional consultant to use these objects , report in particular. We were able to use the custom-built report as it is immediately after code refresh.

Let me compare this experience with traditional upgrades most of us including me have done in the past. A Technical developer would have to check out the custom-built report on fat client. Then, the developer would open the report using RDA tool. Developer would double-click on the BSFNs used in the Do section and other sections of a report and at the end check the report in back to Deployment Server. If a Technical Developer skip this process then the report would not work.

Howdy, Stranger!
