Preference Master set up - P40073 - What is the use of Sequence Number?

Hi Group members,

What is the use of sequence number in Preference Master set up? tool tip helps do not relay enough information nor the user guide.

User guide explains that "enter the sequence in which a user's valid environment shall appear"  What does this mean?

Can we safely ignore this field?
