Manual Completion of a Failed RMAN Backup based Duplicate

Hello expert,

                     I have some question on

I was cloning one of our non-prod database using production database backup without connection to target and recovery catalog.Unforutanetely it failed while restoring archivelog as default location was choosen as a local file system which had no space.As per document I should follow

3. Manual Completion of Phase 3:Recovery as it failed while trying to recover from archivelog but I can not use it as it says connection to target database is required.Does that mean we can not manually start failed duplicate if it is done without target connection.
