Physical standby creation is failing to copy files from my primary REDO diskgroup

I have a two node RAC on ASM - version 11.2.0.4.

I use OMF for all files.

The oracle home is also in ASM.

I am building  a standby RAC but it's failing.  This is a section from the alert log showing the failure:

Error 12514 received logging on to the standby
FAL[client, ARC4]: Error 12514 connecting to rptfi for fetching gap sequence
Errors in file /u03/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/rptfi/njwrpt1/trace/njwrpt1_lgwr_23647.trc:
ORA-00313: open failed for members of log group 1 of thread 1
ORA-00312: online log 1 thread 1: '+REDO/njwrpt/onlinelog/group_1.281.921868935'
ORA-17503: ksfdopn:2 Failed to open file +REDO/njwrpt/onlinelog/group_1.281.921868935
