Front Console Port not working

I'm trying to console into the front port on the SBC and not having any luck (I'm needing to change the management interface through bootparam and want to make sure I have a console connection in case all else fails). I tried the back console port also with no luck. Any ideas on why these ports wouldn't work (the other device in the HA setup works just fine from the front console even though it is the standby device).
