Need advice on memory requirement of AIX 11g DB migrated to ASM

Hello all,

I'm in the process of migrating an AIX 7.1 11g R2 database to ASM.     Right now the host has 128 GB of RAM allocated  with about 50 GB of that allocated to the DB.  40 GB data buffer cache.

The new hardware has 160 GB of RAM.   It's my understanding that once one goes to ASM then there is less need for RAM at the OS level.  (no need to double buffer the data cache in OS too).   But how much less OS RAM is needed when using ASM?    Since there is nothing other than the database on the new host and presumably AIX has modest memory needs,   could I allocate 75% of the 160 GB to the database?     I know I can experiment with this but I'm just looking for a fuzzy ball park answer of what can

Howdy, Stranger!
