Perform charge time for a work order

Hi all,

Have following questions regarding the actual charge time for a work order.

1. Once charge time has been entered for a particular resource will the total duration of the work order ,and duration for that particular resource line gets changed instantly?

2.Is an instance required (for an example helper resource the helpers name) for a resources in order to capture the charge time?
