Can I assigne 2 Position Heirarchy to single person?

I have a senario-

Person A having Position A in Org A and Person B having Position B in Org B

Person A is leaving the organisation and Person B will be replacing him. So he will now be handing both the ORG 50 % each.

I do not believe I can assign 2 positions to a person. My guess would be you need to add the A permission to
his B position in order to get this to work but I am not sure.
