Significance of S_EVT_ACT_M12 index

Hi,


We are currently experiencing index contention on the index S_EVT_ACT_M12 on S_EVT_ACT table. From Siebel 8.1.10 onwards, this index is a standard index and as stated by Oracle, should not be deactivated. I would like to understand the significance of this index.
