modifying raid 5 using oracles system assistan

edited Sep 26, 2016 5:00AM in Linux Operating System (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered

I use oracles system assistant to create a raid 5 configuration consisting of 3 internal disc drives, and a fourth drive identified as a 'hot spare'. I've since decided  I want to

include the fourth drive as part of the raid 5 configuration. I have installed oel, and some additional system software line gnome.  When I go back to the system assistant I am able

to reset the fifth drive as not  a hot spare, but I don't see anyone to specify I want it included as the fourth drive in the raid 5 configuration.  I can remove the existing volume, but I believe that would required me to recreated the raid 5 and I would have to reinstall the os.  Is there anyway of now including that fourth drive, or do I have to byte the bullet and reinstall the os as well ?

Howdy, Stranger!
