Golden Gate Clarifcations

Dear Gurus,

Please help me with the below clarifications:

In our scenario we have unidirectional replication requirement  where in customer wants  replicate from source to target  and then wants the applications to replicate in reverse direction.

Incase the tables at target become live then he use the application to replicate

1. What happens if the customer make changes to the tables at the Target will golden gate come with error.

My understanding is that once the replicat process is stopped then the tables will be read write.
