RMAN backup based Duplicate causes a RMAN 06004 and ORA-1480

ORACLE Version 11.2.0.4.

RMAN Duplicate causes a RMAN 06004 and ORA-1480

First - I work and a closed facility and cannot access this or other internet sites from work. So I will check during non-working hours.

The architecture:

I have 3 databases on separate machines

Originally I was not connecting to the catalog database in the script when doing RMAN Backups. Therefore it would say that it was using the control file instead of a catalog database. Now that Im connecting to the catalog database it correctly states that its using catalog database. I have 5 to 10 backups where its using the catalog database.
