Work Order status is blank

1. For Work orders created the work order status is set to blank and the user has to manually enter the WO status. I verified and the WO entry processing option has no set up for Wo status. This is retrieved from WO activity rule. Please let me know if there is another way to have WO auto update the WO status.

2. in my opinion it is advisable not to leave the Work Order type blank in the UDC 00/TY so that it becomes mandatory to enter a Work order Type for a Work order. if there is no WO Activity rule defined then you have to manually enter the status of the WO for every stage. This is allowed and what are the issues we can face.
