Upgrading Database Schema on Production

Hi,

We are upgrading the BRM patchset from 7 to 16 (including intermediate MPS1). Is there any other way to upgrade the database schema on production apart from running the pin_75_75mps1_upgrade.pl and pin_75_75ps16_upgrade.pl .Please suggest if any.
