How to monitor the same host from two OEM instances

Hi Experts - I previously saw this question from a 2013 post in the Enterprise manager / Database monitoring.    My scope is a little bigger - I need to monitor several types of targets/applications (EBS, GRC, Databases, etc) from a second OMS  - where those hosts are already being monitored from a diff OEM instance.    The smallish comment at the time - was to just put different agent directory on the host and proceed as usual.   I am wondering if this still is the correct method and if there are any other problems - like inventory or other contentions. 

Is there any documentation to support doing this activity.
