Adding members to group asset issues.

What am I doing wrong?  If I create a group asset, then load the member assets, I can add YTD and Accum for the members.  If I post directly from the ADI upload, my accum goes into YTD as a negative, and Accum is 0.  If I post mass additions from the requests (I cannot post from the form, as I am told I cannot modify the asset), then I can go in and add the group asset number, with the start amortization date of the end of the current period.  If I had the group asset number with dataload,
