Oracle Quality Specification Validity Rules

We are using Oracle Quality to inspect Item. But when we create Specification for the item, we do not know what type of Validity Rules to be use. Can someone differentiate the following Validity Rules Type - Inventory, Production, WIP and Supplier Validity Rules as well as when and how to use them.
