A substitute for PCM letters functionality

In Primavera Contract Management there is a letter functionality which uses MS Word as editor and merge PCM data to MS Word templates. Any ideas how something similar could be done in Unifier?

The critical point is generating a letter number and placing some BP form data to the Word file.

We see that BI Publisher would generate a Word file as custom print. But custom prints are not automatically attached to the BP and not accessible from the BP form. Unless user attach the custom print output manually.
