Bi Publisher API - Read time out

We have an BI Publisher API using  "runReport".  The API works fine until we try to run a long running report.  After 10 minutes the program fails with a "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out" error.

I've read various posts suggesting there is a time variable which can be set to extend this but I can't find it on my server.

This program is running on a UNIX - SunOS 11 server and  Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.7.150120

Any pointer for getting around this is appreciated.
