Configure the product configurator UI in IP 2015

Hi,

We have a project requirement to configure the UI of the Siebel Product configurator in IP 2015. We understand the vanilla cfgrenderer.js is applied on the 'Cfg Cx Runtime Instance Frame (JS HI)' applet. Is there anyway to apply a custom js over and above this? Or do we need to update this vanilla file itself for the required configuration? As a best practice we do not modify vanilla files, hence thought of checking in this forum.

Please suggest.
