Best option to store Legacy Item Number

Hello

I am looking for best option to store legacy item number in P4101.

There will be 4 countries going live who have different product codes for identical products as they were using different system.

I think of following options -

1. Store in AITM - JDE reports do not show this

2. Store in Search text - for different countries in different languages using alternate description

3. Use existing item number for pilot country and ask other countries to allign - still this will need to store legacy item numbers except pilot country ( Pilot country is manufacturing and selling and other countries are only selling)
