Applying patch on GRID HOME before configuring GRID for a cluster

Hi

We are installing 11.2.0.4 on 2 node RAC

While installing the GRID infra-structure (running root.sh), we ran into some issues and found out that we need to apply a patch in GRID HOME first, so we de-installed and de-configured the GRID installation from the 2 nodes and now starting over again

Now the question is that since we need to apply the patch in GRID HOME, we need to have GRID software installed in the first place and we cannot do "Install and Configure Oracle Grid Infra structure for a cluster" since that would error out as earlier

if we do a software install only installation, it wont push the GRID software to the second node. How should we address this?
