P6 Pro - How total float calc uses task calendar

For a given activity, P6 Pro calculates the TF as -87d though the EF is 09-May-2017 and the LF is 08- Mar-2017 which is clearly two months,  or about 61 calendar/elapsed days.  The task calendar is 6-day work week and 16-hour day with holidays and weather days.   Why does P6 display a longer TF than the displayed calendar days support?
