Does Oracle Assets take care of interest accounting of finance lease?

edited Jul 12, 2017 5:00AM in Fixed Assets - EBS (MOSC) 5 commentsAnswered

My question is related to lease functionality provided in the Oracle Assets module (EBS R12).

In the amortization schedule, I see the break up between interest and principal amount for each lease installment payment. My question is does Oracle provides a functionality to account for interest accrual automatically based on this data?

Example:

Initial Recognition:

Dr Lease Asset

Cr Lease Liability

-- The above accounting entry can be achieved through the (FA) Addition event in SLA

Subsequent Recognition:

Dr Interest Expense

Cr Lease Liability

-- Data is there, but I do not see any functionality to account for the interest accrual. My question is about this entry.
