Going live with Oracle on last day of accounting period

We plan to go-live with Oracle EBS (Finance modules) Monday Oct-31, 2016. This happens be last day of the month of accounting period. We are considering to have an early Oct close in Legacy system and on Monday Oct-31, open Nov-16 as first open period. So all transactions entered on Oct-31, 2016 will be entered for Nov-16 period. We wanted to know if someone have done this and from accounting/system stand-point could there be any issues with this approach. If you have any other suggestion/idea kindly let us know.
