Reverse Auto-Populate From Closed Records

I need to trigger the reverse auto-populate feature on a closed record.  I edited the form using a Record Edit form that had the proper reverse auto-populate settings on it to do so, but it does not seem to be working.  Is there something I am missing on this?  The auto-populate feature works fine within the regularly set up BP.
