Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.4 Navigation Menu missing links

Hello,

I have Planning installed on linux and after running the validation tool everything is green.  However when I log in as an Admin into EPM via workspace url and I go to Navigation, I do not see the typical links: Applications, Explore, Workspace Pages, Schedule, Impact Manager.  The only thing available is Administer and Open Items (which is grayed out).  If I enter the direct url for Hyperion Planning, I am able to log in that way. Any insight is appreciated.
