Siebel Open UI: the case of the missing keystroke

Hi everyone.

A client recently upgraded from IP2013 to IP2015, patchset 10, with Open UI. Siebel is installed in a single Windows 2008 server. Workstations are Windows 7, browser is IE11.

The deployment of Open UI was relatively uneventful. Largely, it works well. Users report that Ope UI is generally slower than IP2013 with HI but it seems that they are getting used to this. What has been reported as the biggest issue, however, is that at times, when entering the value for a query, the user's first keystroke will me "missed".

Example: if a user wants to search for a Contact whose first name is John, the user will type "John" and quickly run the query. At times, however, the UI won't catch the first letter, "J". In consequence, the user really asked Siebel to search for "ohn". As "ohn" is a a rare name (if anyone was ever called "ohn") the search will return no results. The user will look at the empty list applet and move forward to create the new contact "John".

Howdy, Stranger!
