Data migration Strategy for Oracle Financials and Inventory

We are preparing to migrate from Oracle eBS 11i to R12.1.3. As part of the process we must extract and clean the data and prepare it for migration. Is there any white paper or knowledge base document that I can reference which will give me some different strategies as to how best to prepare my material transactions for migration and also what is the industry best practice for dealing with open PO's?
