VSM6 VTD availability during Node Reboot

Hello,

I currently have VSM6s in my tape environment which have 2 nodes configured to each. I have experienced on occasion one VSM node will reboot for whatever reason. My understanding of the VSM6 is when one node reboots, the other node will continue processing.

I have noticed that when a VSM node take the reboot, all VTDs will go into a boxed state. When this happens, the other node stays up, however, nothing can get to the VSM for drive allocation because of the drives are offline.

My question is, has anyone heard of this and if so, is there a solution to allow one VSM node to continue the processing, with the virtual drives still online, until the other node completes its reboot?
