WriteRecord fires on TextArea field with Carriage Return only (as opposed to Carriage Return/Line Fe

We recently upgraded Siebel from 8.0.0.9 to 8.1.1.14 Patchset 13.  We have observed some strange behavior that began with the upgrade in Production.  We have a back end system that loads Activities onto Siebel with newlines.

If a back end Activity Comment is made up of several lines (separated by newlines), but only has a Carriage Return separating the lines, Siebel 8.1.1.14 tries to add a Line Feed character to the Carriage Return character to make a newline (with a Carriage Return/Line Feed pair), when a user accesses the Activity on the UI (high interactivity).  It happens even when the user makes no changes to the Activity fields.
