what happens when a UOM is not defined and an Item Reclassification takes place

Item1 -PUOM = JT Item 2 - PUOM = MT and classified into Item3(1+2items) to make one item3 - PUOM = MT. now item1 UOM conversion is not defined for JT to MT how will this reflect in the GL . Will this create an issue and how to fix this....
