Samba share access issue with Windows 2008 AD

Hi,

We are facing issues with accessing Samba shares. The users are authenticated using the Windows AD. The issue started occurring after the Windows 2003 AD was decommissioned and Windows 2008 AD was started to be used for authentication.  When using Windows 2003, the users will not be prompted for password for accessing the shares. With Windows 2008 AD, the users are prompted for password and even they type in the right password, it keeps on asking the password and they cannot access the shares.

We had joined the Samba server to the Windows 2008 AD using the "net rpc join" command and it joined successfully to the domain. We use only WINS and Netbios for name resolution. We do not use Kerberos and Winbind. We have installed the latest Samba patch as well. Could you help us to identify what is wrong here?
