Required Steps to Implement Encryption and Masking on Specific Siebel DB Column

As part of our client's requirements, we need to encrypt a specific column in the Siebel DB (S_CONTACT.SOC_SECURITY_NUM) and mask it in the UI.  Based on a review of Bookshelf and other knowledge base articles, it would appear that AES is the recommended feature to support these requirements.  From the documentation it appears that AES is part of the base Siebel installation, not a separate installation and once installed it only needs to be updated with a new password in order to make it available within that Siebel Enterprise.  We do not need to encrypt this value in-transit, only at-rest
