What are the issues with having Batch Routings without Batch BOMs?

Can you set up an item with Batch Routings and a non-batch routing and then set up only the non-Batch BOM and still have the system function correctly?  What issues might you see in doing this.  I tested the setup and it appears from a processing perspective you can do this.  I set up a BOM with a Batch size = 0 and a routing with a batch size =0 and a routing with Batch size =40.  I created a work order for qty 40 and ran the R31410 to attach the parts list and routing.  Both attached without issue
