In Requisition Self Service, how do I enter a subledger value for a product rather than a service?

Hello Community,

I read Oracle white paper 760682.1 for using subledgers in requisition self service but I cannot replicate the results in the paper or even get close. The screen capture in the example on Page 6 shows a requisition for a product rather than a service. To me this means that the item "SHREDDER" is either a line type N or S in the item master, but I may be making an unwarranted assumption.

However, I have tried both subledger type A and subledger type X but I cannot get the Account Distribution form to display. I have tried editing at status Composing and at status Submitted. Even worse, if I just enter a subledger type and and subledger number, it is not saved in the F43E16 and it is not carried over to the purchase order when the req is expedited.

Howdy, Stranger!
