Receipt Routing Adjustment Definition - Ledger Transactiong

When processing through Movement and Disposition, there is an option for "Adjustment".  This doesn't seem to be an "adjustment" similar to an IA.  What would someone use this for?

Additionally, if you choose options for return, rework, rejected or scrap, will you see any of those entries items on the Item Ledger?
