How are Master Contracts different than the new Contract Style "Group Single Supplier" feature?

It seems like the new Group Single Supplier feature does the same and more then the existing Master Contract feature.  Is that correct?  Would you ever use both?  Is there a value in Master Contracts that I'm not aware of?
