patching sanity
Just looking for a bit of sanity and get my head wrapped around an expanding universe ...
In the past, I have only installed quarterly PSUs. From the beginning was advised that one needed to choose to go forward with either CPU or PSU, but not mix-n-match. That is reinforced by statement from note 854428.1, Para 9.1:
Once a PSU has been installed, the recommended way to get future security content is to apply subsequent PSUs.. Reverting from PSU back to SPU, while possible, would require significant effort, and so is not advised.
But of course my manager received a standard CPU notice with the admonition to 'apply as soon as possible' .. . I'm pretty sure I can convince him to allow me to continue with just an PSU approach, but I wanted to back check and make sure I'm still working under correct understanding - that some fundamental change hasn't passed me by.
