Storagetek 2540 batery

Hi all,

hi all

I Have an Storagetek 2540, with one of its Batterys faulty (really faulty, is not an age trouble). My question is, the function of the batterys are the cache suply? I mean, If lose both batterys, lost de whole storage or only lost the cache data in case of a general energy failure?
