Top Level (CEO) Timecard Approval in ESS Time Entry
All employees in our company require an ESS timecard to be submitted and approved, including the CEO. Salaried EE timecards are generated using the Timecard Generation UBE into the Batch Timecard file which creates the CEO's timecard each pay period. In the Employee Master, the CEO currently does not have a supervisor assigned, so we unable to get his timecard approved (via ESS Manager Review/Approval) by either a supervisor or delegate. I cannot assign an existing employee as his supervisor in the EE Master Maint (P0801), as this results in a 'recursive employee' error.
What are the setup steps to make this all work? Does the CEO's supervisor require that an EE Master record be created specifically for this purpose? If so, how do I ensure this 'bogus' employee is not included in any employee groups and will be excluded from timecard generation? How can I assign a supervisor, who is not another employee AND is not part of any active employee group for timecard processing or timecard generation purposes? I appreciate any guidance anyone can provide on this.
