How to change control file location in RAC with ASM?

I have rac with two node and one SID. On one node is PROD1 instance and the other node is PROD2 instance. I did the below steps and tried to change control file location, but once I open the database, it is still showing the same old control file location. I did this in db1 instance I think. Do I need to do the same to db2 instance? How to make the show parameter reflect the correct location that it should have been? Gurus, please advise. Thanks.
