adop phase=abort is inserting a bug reference in ad_bug table

Hi.,

In one of our recent audit, we (DBA Team) were asked about one of the patch number 16399723 details and related SR reference. We tried searching in metalink but could not find any reference for that particular bug number.

Then we navigated to Oracle application Manager responsibilities --> Patching and maintenance --> Search for the patch/Bug number. in that we found out the bug id mentioned executed uabort.drv. I think it is added as reference ID for ABORT phase which is abnormal patching cycle completion. attached screen shot reference. Please help us in clarifying the below points.

1) Will abort phase in adop add entry in ad_bugs and ad_applied_patches tables? why this information is stored on the database?
