Siebel upgrade from 8.1.1.3 to IP16 - New Hardware

Hello,

We are migrating from Siebel 8.1.1.3 SIA to IP16. Current hardware is not going to be reused and the upgraded environment will be new hardware.

After reading the upgrade guide, I just wanted to validate the following approach:

For DEV:

- Fresh install of 8.1.1.3 on the new hardware

- Copy schema and repository from current machines (to be decommissioned) and make sure the new environment is running in 8.1.1.3

- On the new machines, install IP16 binaries as an upgrade from 8.1.1.3

- Do an upgrep + IRM + Post-merge + Upgphys

In Test and Prod, do the same but install IP16 directly as a fresh install and copy schema and repository from DEV (IP16).
